Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of childhood heartache gained widespread fame in the early 21st century. Swift was interested in music since a young stage of her life. She quickly moved up the ranks, beginning as a child actor and then singing before an enormous crowd. Swift was eleven years old when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball match. In the following year Swift began to write songs and picked up the guitar. Inspiring herself by country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift's family relocated across the state of Tennessee to Pennsylvania when she was 13so she would have more time exploring the country music label in Nashville.
